Introduction to OpenBlend
OpenBlend’s performance management & enablement tool provides a platform that brings teams key elements together, giving you the opportunity to have effective one-to-one conversations focussing on everything that impacts an individual’s productivity: from weekly priorities and performance goals to key drivers, wellbeing, and feedback.
It it vital you help support your Teams when onboarding to OpenBlend, ensuring they have all registered successfully, added their key information and got started with entering some of their own performance-related data prior to their first 1:1.
1:1s
How often should I have 1:1s with my manager?
Your company may have set out a frequency expectation when they launched OpenBlend. Check with them first, if you're unsure. The OpenBlend tool has been developed to flexibly suit your needs. Our users are benefiting from weekly and monthly 1:1s, we'd recommend having 1:1s with each of your team members at least once a quarter.
What should I cover during 1:1?
Both you and your teams should have a think about areas you want to cover ahead of each 1:1. That way you're both clear on your agenda-items / talking points for the session. You can cover a specific area like a particular Motivator, or your team-member's overall Wellbeing, you also have the opportunity to arrange a 1:1 targeted at Objective-setting or Action-planning. Concentrate on the areas that are most valuable to you at the time. Getting what you need from the 1:1s is vitally important.
How long should a 1:1 be?
This will be dependent on what you decide to cover in each 1:1. It could be a quick 15-minute check-in or a 60-minute deep dive. Preparing some agenda items / talking points to cover in the 1:1 will enable you to be more efficient, if you're limited for time.
What happens if I miss a 1:1?
If you've missed a 1:1, don't worry. Simply Update booking to a time you can make in the future. Set a Repeating series for your 1:1 bookings so that you don't have to remember to book them in each time.
Make sure to always click Begin 1:1 to get access to additional features and ensure the 1:1 is logged.
You can book 1:1s direct from your calendar application (e.g. Outlook, Google Calendar) by simply inviting calendar@openblend.com as well as your manager or team member. Once the invitation is sent, the booking will also appear in your OpenBlend Calendar.
