Overview

Everyone is different. Understanding what motivates each individual to perform holds the key to a productive and fulfilled workforce.

In the OpenBlend platform, we guide every employee to identify their driving factors (or Motivators) and support them in discussing and incorporating these into 1:1s with their manager through an easy-to-use interface.

Motivators includes 30+ unique drivers that influence performance and productivity, such as "Clear career goals" or "Time with family and friends." Employees select 4-8 motivators that matter most to them in both work and personal life.

Each motivator is visually represented in a Motivators Wheel, where employees define:

  • What the driver means to them
  • Their goal for that driver (target score, often 10)
  • Their current reality (rated 1-10)

By empowering managers to understand and consider both team and individual drivers, it enables them to support their direct reports in reaching their full potential.

Setting up your Motivators

When you first log into OpenBlend you will need to select the Motivators that are most important to you.

OpenBlend will ask you to choose between 4 and 8 Motivators you can see more information regarding choosing your Blend Drivers on the right hand side, in the informational section on the right-hand side.

Choose between 4 and 8 Motivators and simply select them by clicking the toggle on or off.

Once you are done, click the "Next" button.

Scoring your Motivators

Once you have selected all your Motivators you will be asked to rate each Motivator with what your current score is today, and what your target score is. You will also be asked to give each driver a personal description of what this means to you. As you go through each, ask yourself these three questions:

  1. How would things ideally be in this aspect of your work/life - what is important to me?
  2. How close are you to being in that ideal place?
  3. You can customise the target score if you want. Many people leave this as '10'.
