Overview

This release of OpenBlend focuses on improving the experience for new users. This will help both new customers and new employees at existing customers get up to speed more quickly and guide users towards completing their first session successfully.

New User Experience Improvements

The main two changes are the introduction of a product tour and tweaks to the banner with action prompts that guides the user to taking their initial actions in OpenBlend.

Product Tour

When a user first logs in, they are presented with a pop up which invites them to take a look around OpenBlend and explains some of the basic concepts. The user can dismiss the guide if they don't wish to see it, and Managers and Employees see slightly different versions of the tour.

Here's one of the screens from the tour explaining Sessions:

Banner with Action Prompts

New users will see a banner with prompts for completing initial actions to get started with OpenBlend. Managers and Employees see slightly different banners, and the banner will persist until all of the actions are completed. Users can access the Product Tour again from the banner, in case they want to revisit this.

Other Changes

Moving a manager's team objectives when that manager is deleted

When a manager is deleted automatically via User Sync, company Admins will now have to manually confirm that Team Objectives owned by that manager should be reassigned up one level to the person's manager. Until this action is confirmed, the manager won't be deleted from OpenBlend.

Note: If you would like to move the manager's Team Objectives to a different manager, use the functionality in the Teams admin page to transfer these:

Feedback Response Character Limit

The maximum character count has been increased meaning people can enter more text when giving feedback.

Objectives Milestones Character Limit

The maximum character count for Milestone titles has been increased, meaning these can now be longer.

Evaluate

Additional comments made during an Evaluate discussion session will now be visible to managers and employees after the session ends.
