Our first release of the new year focuses on updates to our Objectives module. If enabled for your organisation, this new feature will require a team member to submit an approval request to their manager, when they would like to close an objective.

NEW! Objectives New Features
This feature is optional and will be turned off by default, please speak to your Customer Success
Manager if you would like to turn this on for your organisation.
To help support the effective tracking of closed objectives from a performance perspective, this new objectives feature will allow managers to confirm the satisfactory completion of an objective or,
if not completed, arrange a discussion within a 1:1 session as to the reasons why. It will also protect
against the premature closure of objectives and/or those that have been closed in error.
Let’s look at this feature in a bit more detail:
1. When a team member wants to close an objective, they will need to submit a request to their
manager.
a. Whilst awaiting their manager’s approval, the objective will look like this:
2. Once the request has been sent to the manager, they can approve the closure of the objective, or add the objective to be discussed in their next 1:1, to either be closed following
a discussion, or kept open.
3. If the manager wishes to discuss the objective before closure in the next 1:1, it will be added
to the agenda. This allows for the objective to be closed during the discuss phase in the 1:1, or if following that conversation, it’s decided the objective is not ready to be closed, it can be kept open.
4. Whilst awaiting manager closure approval, any actions linked to the objective will be kept
‘On Hold’. They will then either be closed if the request is approved, or returned to their previous
state if the request is not approved by the manager.
4a. Unlinking actions during closure remains unchanged.
5. Notifications (which can be configured normally) will also be sent to the manager to let them
know they have an objective closure request to review.
6. There will also be a new system action created for managers who have a pending objective
closure request from their team member.
Following customer feedback, we have now also introduced a feature to allow you to reopen closed objectives of any type.
Objectives can be reopened either from the list view, by clicking on the three-dot menu for each
objective, or from the details page.

- To demonstrate progress against competencies in our Develop module, we have introduced
- new ‘In Progress’/’Completed’ pills against each competency being worked on by a team member.
- If an evaluation cycle has 'HR reviewing’ turned on, you can now rename those score terms
- and any related text to language that better suits your organisation. Please speak to your Customer Success Manager if you would like to make these changes.
