Evaluate is a simple yet highly supportive and effective way of evaluating performance at certain periods throughout the year; for both a manager and an employee. In this article, we will walk you through how to complete your Manager Evaluation.
Accessing Evaluate
Accessing Evaluate from OpenBlend Notifications
When an Evaluate Cycle is started, you will receive the following email from OpenBlend, alerting you that you have Evaluation(s) to complete for your team. You will also be notified when your employee(s) have completed their self-evaluation (if applicable).
You can use the "Sign in" link to access the evaluation(s) you need to complete. This link will take you straight into your Evaluate Manager Evaluation page.
Accessing Evaluate from your OpenBlend "My Team" Area
Once you have logged in to OpenBlend, simply click on the "My Team" button on the homescreen. Then click on "Evaluate" in the left-hand side navigation bar.
Once you are in Evaluate, you can then click to "Start" to access your Manager Evaluation page.
NOTE: If you cannot see the Evaluate menu item on the left hand navigation bar, this will be due to the cycle not being made applicable to you. If you believe you should have access to this, please contact your HR Team.
Completing your Manager Evaluation(s)
Once you are within the Evaluate cycle, as shown in the screenshot above, you will see progress flow charts for the manager evaluation status ("My Status") and the Self-Evaluation status ("My Team's Self-Evaluation Status") if applicable.
Simply click on the employee's name to access the questions, as highighted in the screenshot above, to start your manager review for one of your employees.
NOTE: We recommend that you allow your employee to complete their self-evaluation before you complete your manager evaluation so you can see their review. If your employee has completed their Self-Evaluation, you will see their comments on the right-hand side of the evaluation window.
Evaluate questions are structured with either comments only or comments and a drop-down selection.You are also provided with some “Reflection tips” to help you with your evaluation.
During this process you can use the "Save as draft" button to come back to your review and complete it at a later date.
PLEASE NOTE: Evaluate does not auto-save, so it is important that you use this button before navigating away from your Evaluation screen.
Once you have completed your manager evaluation, click the "Submit" button and this will then finalise your review.
Repeat this process for each of your employees until you have completed all of your manager evaluations.
What Happens Next?
Once you and your employee has submitted your written reviews, you will then need to book in a session with your employee to discuss the review.
Please note, that your employee will not be able to see your manager comments in thier profile until you have had a session with your employee and clicked the "Mark Discussed" button.
Once this has happened, your employee will be able to review your manager comments within their profile at any time for reflection in the future.
