Here you will learn what the purpose of OpenBlend is so that you'll understand how the different parts fit together and feel confident in getting started.
Why use OpenBlend?
The main goal of OpenBlend is to help you have consistently great 1-to-1 conversations, usually meaning 1-to-1 conversations between a manager and employee. Having great 1-to-1 conversations will help you perform better, feel more supported and enjoy work more!
The keys to having great 1-to-1 conversations are:
- Frequency - frequent conversations are important to build & maintain the relationship and keep up with progress
- Content - great conversations focus on what's important and meaningful
- Effectiveness - structure and focus are important so that conversations achieve the aims and result in next steps to make progress
OpenBlend recognises people as unique individuals, understanding that work impacts us in our personal life, and vice-versa. OpenBlend is designed with these principles in mind.
How OpenBlend is designed to support these goals
OpenBlend consists of several modules, including Blend, Wellbeing and Objectives. These modules help you gain clarity on where you're trying to get to, stay on track with progress and reflect on how you are doing. Modules are related to work priorities and to you as an individual and your personal circumstances.
You will have great one-to-one conversations by preparing an agenda of Talking Points selected from the different modules, or use the Additional Talking Point to add your day-to-day conversation topics. These will ensure that your conversation is focused on what's important.
Unique functionality is available during a one-to-one session in OpenBlend. This functionality is based on coaching frameworks and is designed to provide structure and guide your conversation.
Although you may use OpenBlend to discuss things happening in your life outside of work, OpenBlend is not a life coaching tool. OpenBlend is intended to facilitate the conversation about how your private life can impact your work, and how your work may be impacting your private life, so that you talk about how the business can best support you to get you to where you want to be.
